Wouldn't you know it?

The day there's some big police manhunt in my neighborhood, so I have a more than merely purient interest in listening to my police scanner at home, via the net, and my upstream-bandwidth is full because i'm on a file-sharing network trying to grab some house music and asterix comics in foreign tounges.

Guess I'll just have to tell a local machine to archive the stream, then listen when I get home.
